New Draft Procedure Information

PROCEDURES AND THE FUTURE OF OUR DRAFT

Welcome to the 2012 GSLL season. This season our league will start a new DRAFT and TEAM procedure which will take us into all subsequent seasons (Excluding Fall Season).

All players, league age 8-16 will be required to attend Evaluations/Try-outs. When your daughter(s) is/are drafted to a team (MINORS, MAJORS, JUNIORS) for the 2012 season, they will remain on the team that selected them for the subsequent seasons.

After the completion of each season, your daughter(s) will have the option of requesting in writing to GSLL, reviewed by, and approved by GSLL to be dropped from that team and re-enter the draft for the following season. In opting to be dropped from a team, you and your daughter(s) understand the risk associated in re-entering the draft. If your daughter(s) will be moving up in a division due to age, they must re-enter the draft as well.

Managers will also have the option of requesting a player be released from their team. This must be done at the conclusion of each spring season, and submitted in writing to GSLL, reviewed by, and approved by GSLL.

If your daughter(s) is/are released by a manager, you will be notified by the league as soon as possible. Otherwise, your daughter(s) will remain on the team that selected them until they move up a division based on age, opt to leave the team, or are released.

Our league is hoping that this will create continuity on each team, build stronger groups and players for our leagues future and assist in the future of your daughter(s) softball career/playing experience.
